Personal Description:

My name is Liam . I hold a Baccalaureate in Theology and Arts, my subjects were Theology and Music, from Pontifical University, St. Patrick's College, Maynooth and a Professional Master of Education (Secondary) from National University of Ireland, Maynooth. I am currently teaching Religion with Dublin and Dún Laoghaire Education and Training Board in Coláiste Pobail Fóla, Citywest.

aI am registered with the Teaching Council of Ireland to teach Music and Religion, which I am very passionate about. I joined my local Parish Choir when I was just nine years old, I am still in that choir, I am now twenty-five years old and I am still the youngest member. I think, in many ways, this kick-started my love of both Music and Religion, even if I did not fully know it at the time.

I have sixteen years' experience singing in choirs in my locality and every year from 2012 until 2017, I participated in the Emmanuel Concert series in the Helix in Dublin, as part of an 800-piece choir and I was chosen as a solo singer at two of those concerts, in 2015 and 2017. I have twelve years' experience of solo singing, the last five with professional training, and I specialised in performance in my undergraduate degree which required performance on an instrument based on audition, my instrument was my voice. Also a first during my undergraduate degree, as part of my required ensemble, was Conducting Skills. These skills are not normally taught at undergraduate level but, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the ensemble co-ordinators decided to try something new and taught us an introduction to Conducting Skills.

I also have experience as both a Music and Religion examiner at Junior Cycle level.

I am a professionally-trained singer and maintain basic keyboard skills.

Approach to Grinds:

Classes follow a student-centered approach to teaching that challenges the student to explore their discipline with guidance. Examination of class materials, use of relevant examples and relevant class activities will provide students with a learning experience that is enjoyable, engaging and suits their individual learning needs.
