Personal Description:

I am Aurelien, a cellist and teacher with over ten years of experience. Teaching is at the heart of my musical life, and I am passionate about sharing my love for the cello and music-making. I strive to create a warm, positive environment where learning is both inspiring and enjoyable.

Beyond teaching, I am busy performing in and around London. I regularly perform solo and chamber music recitals as well as being an active orchestral musician.

Recent performances include recitals at the Wolfson College, Oxford, the Cobbe Collection at Hatchlands Park or the Handel and Hendrix House. I have also performed with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the English National Opera and the Instruments of Time and Truth.

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught privately, in music schools, conservatoires, and on summer courses, working with students of all ages and levels — from complete beginners to advanced college musicians.

My students have gone on to succeed in conservatoire auditions and achieve excellent exam results, but above all, I take pride in seeing them grow as confident, expressive musicians. My teaching reflects the excellence and traditions of both the French and English schools, rooted in a long heritage of music-making.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach is simple: prioritise each student’s needs and ensure they take genuine pleasure in playing. I focus on music as a language — a tool for expression — to create deep, lasting understanding. Lessons are tailored to individual strengths and challenges, turning the learning process into an organic, enjoyable journey. Through careful observation and guidance, I help students strengthen their skills, overcome weaknesses, and develop a personal voice on the instrument.

I am a joyful, positive person, and students have more than often praise my approach to music teaching and education.
