Personal Description:

Hello everyone! My name is Piá and I am a recent Masters graduate from The Royal Northern College of Music. I have been playing the violin for 17 years and have a varied experience across many genres and styles of playing (classical, folk and pop being some of my favourites)! I have also been playing the viola regularly for the past 4 years.

Aside from playing, I am passionate about music theory and have achieved a double specialism in musicology in both my undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. I believe that music theory is essential to practical music making and allows students to gain a wider perspective within their playing and understanding.

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught a variety of students, ranging from young children up to adult age. This experience is both within private settings, as well as leading sessions and group projects - specifically, within an orchestral setting.

Tutoring Approach:

It is all down to YOU! Whether you want to pursue music/grades, learn a new skill or simply pick up where you left off years ago, every lesson will be catered specifically for you. I encourage each and every student to find joy in their playing and to transfer and apply this energy outside of lesson time in day to day life - music is for everyone.

I aim to create a welcoming environment, with lessons always being an open and safe space to ask questions. During your free 30 minute consultation lesson, we can discuss your goals and devise a brief plan on how to achieve these. I can be relaxed and/or detailed in my approach - please let me know which suits you best.
