Karen is really supportive and encouraging. She is knowledgeable about music and her instruments and has an approachable manner. Her patience and support is helpful for someone like me who has not played music since school. Additionally, as someone completely new to the clarinet, I could barely get a squeak from my instrument. Now I can play simple tunes and I am reading some music after just a few sessions. Annabel has been wonderful. She's been very flexible with our lessons, agreeing to teach over Skype and being very gracious about the difficulties that poses. In just a few lessons I've become much more aware of my weaknesses and how to correct them, and have seen a huge improvement in my playing and confidence. Annabel explains things clearly and directs the lessons to the areas I need to work on. The pieces or exercises she asks me to practice between lessons are always helpful for improvement and relevant to what I've been working on before. I am so pleased to have found Annabel to teach me clarinet, and am excited about further improvement as our lessons continue.
