Hello, I’m Alla, a native Russian speaker from the beautiful city of St.-Petersburg.

Traveling has been my lifelong passion, and in that time I’ve enjoyed visiting many beautiful places around the world, experiencing different cultures, and meeting wonderful people.

This is how I developed a passion for languages. My mother tongue is Russian, however, I am also fluent in German and English. Currently, I am also learning the beautiful language of Italian.

I am an educated tutor; having obtained a Degree in Social Law, I have always enjoyed the teaching process. In May 2011, I successfully passed the CBS examination at the Institute of Linguists in London. In February 2012 I completed the course Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).

I have been teaching Russian since 2007 both privately and at schools. Throughout these years I had more than 70 happy students, who would pass their exams with excellent results. I also worked for the City of Bath College, Languages United School in Bath, and Linguistica Global Ltd. based in Cheltenham. Currently, I am working as a Russian Language Consulter at QA Ltd. in Cheltenham

I believe that qualifications are essential, however, the most vital aspect when it comes to teaching, is to be passionate about it; and most of all making the entire experience enjoyable for both the student and the teacher.

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching Russian since 2007. Currently, I am working as a Russian Language Consulter at QA Ltd. in Cheltenham.
I love teaching and watching my students progress. I prepare my students for GCSE and A-Level, TRKI, and other qualifications. All levels and all ages are welcome!

Tutoring Approach

Being a language student myself for many years, I know what to expect when you study a foreign language.
You have to be positive and patient, passionate about languages and work hard.
I teach my students four main language skills - reading, writing, speaking and listening comprehension.
My lessons are designed to have fun, to learn something new every lesson and have a chance to practice your language skills - here YOU are talking!
