Very supportive, very positive thinking, very experienced in the 3 languages I teach having lived in Italy for 5 years, france for 2 years and syria for 1 year, I am university educated and work full time for now in mental health but my languages are practiced continually through friends and family. I enjoy reading the bible in my spare time.
Have taught in UK primary schools, in France and Austria in secondary schools for the British Council and in Italy in many private schools . I am influenced by Michel Thomas's teaching and sometimes recommend his material to students. I myself did 2 A-Levels in languages. Spanish and German. Though I don't actually teach those languages :).
Directly focusing on talking. I find it best to work on cementing the best vocab and then working on an accent when the student is more confident. Some books are used and I sometimes encourage students to memorise sentences and even paragraphs if possible to improve fluency. In Italian I find it useful to use the 'vangeli' and this has worked well with other students.
