I am married with 2 children now past university and training and working in different aspects of teaching. I have lived in Manchester for over 30 years. I gained a Masters Degree in History at the University of Manchester after completing both my first degree and teaching qualification. In my free time I enjoy watching a variety of sports, with some occasional participation. Along with my family I enjoy a range of films and shows, as well as a variety of musical genres. I have travelled extensively in both north America and Europe, and I have also visited northern India and Nepal.
I have been a teacher of History, Archaeology and Politics to A Level, in colleges and schools, for 26 years. I am also an experienced examiner for both Pearson/Edexcel in A Level History, for the IB Diploma and for Cambridge International Examinations. I trained as a teacher with History as my first subject and Maths as the subsidiary subject having gained an A Level in both Maths and Physics alongside History.
I am friendly and positive tutor who tries to support my students through all the challenges of learning and preparing for exams. In helping students I am responsive to individual learning styles and recognise the need to adjust the pace of learning to suit each person.
