I am an advocate for good Dyslexic teaching for all students. Having achieved a Masters in Shakespeare despite being diagnosed with Dyslexia in Primary school.
I have been working with students with Dyslexia and literacy needs for the past 4 years in a Inner London Secondary School. In that time I have worked successfully with a range of students some of whom are now projected to achieve their GCSE English Language with a high pass.
I work on a 1:1 bases following the principles of effective Dyslexia teaching making my session multi-sensory, explicit and structured instruction building on prior learning.
My teaching is based around the explicit instruction of phonics but I aim to build in my students own passions and interests to keep the sessions engaging.
