Welcome! My name is Erin. I hold an LLB (2015) and LLM in Human Rights (2017) from the University of Edinburgh, and an MPhil (Indigenous) (2023) from James Cook University (Queensland, Australia). I have worked as researcher to Geoffrey Robertson KC at Doughty Street Chambers (2018-2019), researcher to Queensland Human Rights Commission in Australia (2017 and 2019) and founded the Global Advocacy Alliance (2023) as an international NGO.
From 2021-2023 I have been in Australia to complete my MPhil (Indigenous) by research, with the Indigenous Education and Research Centre. My thesis reviewed the impact of new Legacy legislation in Northern Ireland and the Treaty Act in Queensland. I have most recently (July, 2025) been invited by Professor Megan Davis to present my thesis at Harvard Law School. Alongside my NGO work I am completing my PhD (Indigenous) at the Indigenous Education and Research Centre (2025-2029).
I am extremely passionate about expanding and challenging our understanding of human rights, alongside how our justice systems respond to violence. I love to support students in understanding the UN international treaty framework and those taking on dissertations within the field of human rights/criminal justice and theory.
I have been tutoring professionally since 2013 and have tutored over 27 students via First Tutors. I am familiar with course content of and have taught students from LSE, SOAS, Queen Mary, The University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh Napier University, Abertay University, and The Open University. I am happy to tutor LLB and LLM students alongside most of the LLB syllabus (in Scots law or English law).
I am happy to be contacted for lessons on LLB/LLM course content; assistance in essay writing; thesis planning, writing and editorial work (the latter must be signed off by your university where it pertains to your thesis); and for assistance in application processes. I also offer check in sessions with students who need support in managing their deadlines alongside anxiety and overwhelm with course work.
Please note that I conduct all of my tutoring as online classes via zoom, skype or teams; email exchange and voice calls as needed. I cannot currently conduct sessions in person.
I look forward to working with you!
