Hi, I’m Farhaan — a Maths graduate, qualified secondary school teacher, and experienced tutor specialising in Secondary level Maths.

Over the past 10+ years, I’ve helped students gain the confidence, knowledge, and exam techniques they need to succeed. Many of my students have improved by at least two grades, and I am proud to have supported families in reducing the stress that comes with maths exams.

I’ve worked in a variety of comprehensive secondary schools across London, with a wealth of experience and have been offering private tuition, which gives me first-hand knowledge of the syllabus and the required skills needed obtain the highest marks possible.

Tutoring Approach

My approach to tutoring will be tailored according to that individual, with the aim being to address any gaps the student may have in their knowledge, which is subsequently holding them back from progressing to that next stage.

To ensure consistency and progress, I would be shadowing the scheme of learning your child would be following in school. This would ensure that your child is keeping pace (and going ahead if possible) with their respective maths class in school. Topics would be modelled with a focus on identifying and addressing any areas of weaknesses. After modelling a topic, students will then be given a chance to tackle a few examples to check whether or not they have understood the problem at hand. This is also to ensure that, the student develops a certain level of independence. At the end of every topic, students will be given end of topic tests to test their progress, as well as ensuring that they are exposed to exam questions from very early on, to refine their exam technique.
