I am a qualified native teacher and an outstanding tutor of French.
The 2023 results were excellent. The three year 11 students I taught from year 9 were awarded grades 9, 9 and 8. The year 11 I taught in year 11 only got a grade 7 at GCSE. The student in year 13 whose mum asked me to tutor him again as I tutored him in year 11, was awarded a grade 7 for IB.
I am again nearly fully booked, so the ONLY slots I have left are:
Monday 9am and 10 am
Wednesday 9am fortnightly; 10am weekly; 6pm weekly
Thursday 4 pm
Friday, 9am and 2 pm

Tutoring Experience

I taught for 23 years in British schools from KS3 up to A level.
I was also Head of Languages for 7 years in 2 different schools.
Since setting up my online tutoring company, I have taught more than 2,000 lessons online to students from primary to retired age.

Tutoring Approach

I am traditional in my approach as for all levels, I believe that if you want to be good at French, you need to understand how the grammar works as well and tenses.
Primary: I make sure that children have their first approach at the topics that they will need in the future and I introduce basic grammar. I use songs, videos and texts to develop all 4 skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing.
KS3: I start preparing actively for the future and ensure that I build grammar awareness, tenses use and recognition as well as vocabulary and conversation.
KS4: I ensure that students understand grammar and tenses without which students will not be able to access the highest grades. Topic knowledge and vocabulary are also key. I use Exam papers to expose students to exam material and prepare them for their GCSEs.
Adults: classes again are tailored to students needs. I currently have a student who works in recruitment. I have been teaching her for 3 years.
I also teach a solicitor, a translator and a retired lady. In all cases, I address grammar issues, and also develop their conversational skills. I use songs, articles and other materials.
