As a neurodiverse individual, I find that variety is the spice of life! At university, I was made to choose between music or technology, and so I chose both! I love creative problem solving and helping others learn fills me with excitement.
I have worked as a teacher for 18 years in music, in school settings as well as working privately.
I believe lessons should be fun, first and foremost. Research shows that if you are having fun, you retain more information. Alongside this, I believe in a firm grasp on theoretical aspects in all subjects. I implement this in small and frequent chunks, ensuring it is relevant to the work we're doing, as I appreciate it isn't everyone's cup of tea! The students needs always come first and we reguarly discuss goals and small steps to achieve them.
