I am a student attending the university of Warwick from September 2025 to study philosophy/literature in a Bachelors of Arts degree. I have a passion particularly for philosophy achieving an A at A level and wish to study it at degree level through the lens of literature which I also achieved an A in. I really enjoy reading and find that this motivates me in fostering others passion for literature and find that this is certainly required more than ever in today’s sociopolitical climate.
My teaching experience was primarily within school having run clinics for GCSE English students and assisting particularly in their exam work, I also ran a clinic for year twelve Philosophy students, understanding how crucial the basics are to grasp prior to comprehending the subjects complexities.
My teaching approach is very patient and explorative, with a subject like English I always prioritise the students capability to articulate their own ideas regarding a text and find that assisting with that first stage is always imperative. In regards to philosophy my approach is slightly more prescriptive as the A level course lends itself to this style however to grasp a deeper understanding of the ideas I like to contextually explore the philosopher holistically rather than just the sole ideal the A level requires.
