Jane

I am currently an English teacher in a secondary school in Cardiff. I am based in Rhiwbina in the Cardiff area. I have been a qualified teacher for 17 years and have a vast range of experiences teaching 11-18 year olds, from private one-to-one tuition, class room teaching to small group sessions. I have had a previous role in pastoral leadership, working with young people who can feel anxious about their progress, as well as those who need that extra support to re-engage fully in their learning, this is something I have broad experience of and helps greatly in my understanding of what students need to learn successfully.

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching English Language and English Literature since 2005. KS3 and KS4. I specialise in GCSE English Language and GCSE English Literature. I have been Head of English for the last 4 years. Previously to this I was a head of year. I am also an examiner for English Language and Literature with the WJEC. I have vast experience and knowledge of both GCSE specifications.

I am kind, caring and thorough with high expectations. Any learner can reach their goals and the grades they deserve with hard work, and motivation. I really value any student’s journey in their learning, tailoring their lessons to ensure we meet their goals.
