Not your average Maths tutor!
I specalise in teaching students who are aiming for a grade 4 ( to not have to re-sit in further education) or students who are in further education and need to complete a re-sit exam; However I still tutor students aiming for grade 7-8 who prefer the 'less academic' teaching.
Most barriers I identify on a daily basis are to do with mathematical literacy, students often don't understand the key words required to access the GCSE specification.

Working in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) and Medical Education Service is both challenging and rewarding. These settings typically cater to students who have been excluded from mainstream education due to behavioural issues, mental health challenges, or other special educational needs. The experience can be intense but is also deeply impactful, especially when you see progress in students who are often deemed "hard to reach" or have lost their motivation for education.
