Hello.
My name is Katie and I have a first class degree in education. I have 30 years teaching in a wide variety of different Primary School settings throughout Nottinghamshire. I particularly enjoy teaching children with Special Educational Needs and have been using this specialism to help develop my teaching style throughout my teaching career. Every day is a learning day for both me and every pupil that I teach.
I love to inspire my pupils through a positive and personalised 'can do' teaching approach. Learning should be fun and should promote self-confidence in every pupil despite their barriers to learning
I began my teaching career in 1994 and I currently have 30 years of Primary Education experience in a wide variety of both urban and rural Primary schools. I currently teach full-time in a local Primary School working with children who are below age related expectations. This keeps my teaching approaches up to date and in line with current Government expectations. I regularly attend courses to keep my teaching approaches exciting for my pupils.
Learning should always be enjoyable and fun. I aim to inspire every pupil to have a thirst for knowledge and give them the self confidence to make mistakes and learn from them whilst being supported.
I begin every session with a fun and fast paced warm up session which I use as an assessment tool for future learning sessions.
At the end of each session I make it clear what is going well and which learning gaps will be filled in our future sessions. Rewards are awarded at every session to develop self esteem and confidence.
