Hello, I'm Dr. Katie Removedand I’m a Chartered Psychologist and academic tutor with 20 years' experience of tutoring at all levels, from primary school to MSc and doctoral level. I have a PhD and MSc in psychology, a BA in music, and qualified teacher status for primary level teaching.

Whether you're looking for guidance to improve the marks on your assignments for an undergraduate or postgraduate psychology programme, just have a fascination with psychology and would love to learn informally, or are seeking support for your child to develop their general educational confidence for primary school, I'd love to help.

Tutoring Experience

I have extensive experience teaching and tutoring learners of all ages, from young children to adults. As a qualified teacher, I taught across the primary curriculum for three years before moving into psychology and higher education, where I now tutor undergraduate and postgraduate students in psychology, research methods, academic writing, and study skills.

My current role as a Research Tutor on the Clinical Psychology Doctorate at the University of Hull involves teaching, mentoring, and academic supervision of doctoral research for trainee clinical psychologists. I have also trained in higher education instruction, coaching, and the delivery of adult education through seminars and workshops.

Tutoring Approach

My priority as a tutor is to create a supportive, engaging, and confidence-building learning experience. I don’t just teach - I coach and mentor my students to help them develop self-efficacy, independent thinking, and practical skills they can apply across subjects and in life.

I believe the best learning happens through thinking, doing, and reflecting, so I use an experiential approach that ensures knowledge sticks long after the session ends.

Every student is unique, so I take a tutee-led approach, working closely with you (or your child) to create a learning plan that is enjoyable, rewarding, and tailored to individual needs. My goal is to make learning both effective and empowering.
