Hello, my name is Ling, or you can also call me Jocelyn. I am a native Chinese (Mandarin) speaker who grew up in one of the most fantastic and magical cities called Chongqing. I am an enthusiastic language teacher and learner and I devote great amount of passion into language learning and teaching. I believe in personalised learning plan tailored to different learning styles and needs. I particularly enjoy sharing traditional and modern Chinese culture and would like to be a part of your journey exploring the amazing Chinese language and culture!

Tutoring Experience

I am a native Mandarin speaker who grew up in China and now living in the UK. I have experience tutoring adults using topics as well as role plays based on real life scenarios. I also currently teach children (3-12years) Mandarin.

Tutoring Approach

For adult learners, I would normally find out your learning goals, learning styles and current level, which can help me make a personalised learning plan to best suit you. My mostly used methods include topic discussion, role plays, and interactive game-based activities etc.
For young learners, I mostly use TPR method to engage and interact. I use game based activities as well as flash cards and fun props to help children memorising new words/phrases. Most importantly, my class is fun based which lifts children's mood and children learn best when they are happy.
