As Head of English, GCSE examiner and PGCE-qualified teacher with 15 years’ experience in both independent and state schools, I bring insider knowledge of how exams are marked, so my students know exactly how to gain marks and avoid common pitfalls. On average, my students improve by two GCSE grades, a testament to the success of my step-by-step approach which gives them a clear path to follow. Tutoring Experience

I have been in the education sector for over 15 years, teaching and leading in both independent and state schools, and now lead a successful English department. Tutoring Approach

My tutoring sits within a tailored learning plan, written for each student after an initial assessment, and every session focuses on a specific skill that we develop and build over time, directly linked to the relevant exam board specification.

Small Group Sessions
Alongside 1:1 tuition, I offer small group sessions (maximum of 4 students) for those who enjoy collaborative learning. These sessions focus on targeted GCSE exam skills and allow students to share ideas while benefiting from expert guidance. They are a cost-effective option for regular support and can be combined with occasional 1:1 lessons for personalised feedback.
