I teach English and maths not just for exams, but for life. Whether it's KS3, GCSE, resits, or 11+ preparation, I help students build confidence, sharpen skills, and see the bigger picture.
Before becoming a full-time tutor in 2020, I spent 25 years managing multi-million-pound accounts in top London ad agencies. Originally trained in theatre (gaining a BA Hons in Performing Arts, Drama), I bring creativity, clarity, and a fresh perspective to every lesson.
Because I didn’t come through the traditional teaching route, I don’t just offer traditional textbook lessons. Whilst I keep abreast of the curriculum and have most experience preparing for AQA and Edexcel papers, ongoing lessons are exam-board agnostic. I connect learning to the real world. My students don’t just learn the WHAT, they understand the WHY and the WHAT FOR.
I also volunteer with a charity supporting disadvantaged children. I believe every child should be able to benefit from one-to-one tuition. Last year, I was very proud to have been named the charity’s Volunteer Tutor of the Year for my engaging lesson content and approach.
My students often tell me they like that I “talk like a real person.” That’s because I am—one with a life outside the classroom and a passion for helping young people thrive within it.
Following a 25-year career in marketing, I began tutoring online during 2020’s lockdown.
I teach KS3 and GCSE English and Maths. I believe having a grasp in these key subjects builds confidence that can help all other lessons. I think of them like the gym workout for the mind, helping keep it fit for daily exercise.
In 2023, I began volunteering with Action Tutoring. I wanted to “give something back”. I was proud to have been awarded Volunteer Tutor of the Year by the charity.
Learn from lessons developed in line with the DofE’s Assessment Objectives, not specific exam boards. Help pupils to see that these skills are important for life beyond exams.
Cover the pathway topics that help pupils become mathematically fluent and able to access many other topics in the curriculum.
Study comprehension, critical evaluation, and creative writing in English. Learn new vocabulary, technical terms and read from many curriculum texts.
Enjoy learning again in an informal, relaxed environment. If you’re willing to give me your time, I will give you every help I can to make you do better and feel better with your studies.
