Information About Chris - Dublin tutor

Personal Description:

Hello, I'm Chris! I am a guitar and music teacher from Dublin. I have a BA in Jazz Performance from Newpark Music Centre (Now part of DCU) and MA in jazz performance from HSLU in Luzern, Switzerland. As well as teaching, I also perform in Ireland and abroad. I have played all the major jazz festivals in Ireland as well as playing across Europe in places such as France, Belgium, Germany, Romania, Switzerland, The U.K, Estonia, The Netherlands and even as far afield as Australia. Although my main teaching and performing background is in jazz, I am comfortable to teach most styles of music.

Tutoring Experience:

I currently teach guitar and ensemble on the Bachelor of Arts in Contemporary Music Performance program in DCU, I also teach guitar in Willow Park Junior school in Blackrock as well as some private guitar students.

Approach to Grinds:

My approach is to understand the needs of the student, to explain concepts in a clear and concise way and how it is relevant to their studies. But above all, my main approach is having patience with my students as some of the topics can be difficult to grasp at first and I believe it is a teacher's duty to be as patient as possible and try to come up with as many ways to explain something as they can.
