I am starting a PhD researching the English translation of Ibsen's plays, and began having Norwegian lessons with Elisabeth in June 2020 in order to refresh my rusty Norwegian and support my reading of Ibsen in his original language. Since then, I have had at least two, sometimes three lessons a week with Elisabeth, and have only great things to say about these lessons with her. We have now read the first act of Gengangere (Ghosts) together, and her linguistic and cultural insights have hugely enriched my understanding of the text. As a teacher, I find her unfailingly patient, kind, engaging and helpful, and I have thoroughly enjoyed my lessons with her. I look forward to many more such lessons over the course of my PhD.
