Personal Description:

Qualified to music degree level where I studied piano as my first instrument and composition as my major. I offer piano and music theory lessons both in person at my home or online.

Tutoring Experience:

I taught in a music school for a year and have previous experience teaching in primary and secondary schools. Now I teach privately. Experience covers all grades in various exam boards and all ages. Good general teaching experience through teaching English language in schools abroad, and over a decade of teaching experience overall.

Tutoring Approach:

Lessons follow a well planned schedule using a student planner with weekly notes that highlight practise goals. I prepare students for ABRSM, Trinity and Rock School exams, but casual learners are also welcome. I'm always positive, patient and encouraging. My belief is that anyone can enjoy learning piano at any age!

I offer a free 15 minute trial lesson where we go over previous musical experience (if any), books, and learner goals.

As an adult student, it was important for me to find a teacher who could accommodate my sometimes haphazard work-life schedule, as well as one that would be OK for me to learn without grades or exams. Audrey provided so much more than that, and was the key reason for me sticking at my lessons after the first couple of months. In the space of just over a year, I was managing to play pieces I never thought I would be capable of, and my enthusiasm for piano playing has grown exponentially. I cannot recommend Audrey highly enough, she is an excellent teacher.

Audrey is patient and is able to walk me through my numerous errors, helping me to pace myself; a discipline which I sorely lack when working on the piano unsupervised.
