Learning the bass from scratch, decided to pick up the instrument after a few years of it sitting in my room. After trying lessons on YouTube and becoming really unfocused, confused and demotivated I contacted Colin. Colin is a great teacher. Learning everything inc. notation from scratch has been challenging but Colin is so helpful during lessons, is really encouraging, and has the patience of a saint. He’s great at breaking sections down so I don’t get overly puzzled, has patience in explaining everything that I don’t understand and goes out of his way to send resources to further the learning! (He even reminds me at the start of every lesson to put my reading glasses on) 10/10 would recommend Colin as a tutor for the Bass.

Colin exudes a very calm yet positive demeanor that immediately puts you at your ease. He quickly identifies the problem areas, goes through exercises that target them and produces songs to learn that are ideally suited to tackling these areas. After my first lesson I booked lesson for my wife who was convinced she could only sing a few notes around the middle C area. Within 15mins she was producing a beautiful clear tone up to the C above middle C. I rate Colin as an exceptional and very affective teacher.
