I came to Mackenzie as an adult beginner with no experience - something that can be very daunting - and was immediately inspired and encouraged. I’ve been taught by Mackenzie for just under a year now and am so glad I picked the right tutor as I’ve come on leaps and bounds in a short space of time. Mackenzie is engaged in every lesson and has a real passion for his instrument and musicality; he expresses this in a really accessible way that isn’t patronising or elitist, and where correction is needed it’s in a constructive manner. I’ve found him to be super flexible and where needed (e.g. COVID-19!) he goes above and beyond to provide online lessons. Had 2 months of learning with Stathis so far and the experience had been great! I have a weak music background and I used to think that to learn piano is just to learn how to put the notes onto the keyboard. But Stathis has taught me not only how to play notes, but most importantly how to turn them into something musical. He is also able to find the learning approach that suits me.
